Argan trees, ramparts, surf spots and the motorway home: a 700 km loop to do by car.
This four-day loop links the Red City to the Atlantic. It is easy to do in a city car or an economy car, as all the roads are paved.
To book your car for this trip, see our car rental at Marrakech train station and long-term car rental in Marrakech pages.
Day 1: Marrakech → Essaouira (175 km)
Take the N8 and stop at an argan cooperative. Arrive in Essaouira for a fish lunch at the port, then the ramparts at sunset.
Day 2: Essaouira → Imsouane → Taghazout (about 175 km)
The coast road runs through argan forests. Stop at Imsouane for its long wave, then continue to Taghazout for the night.
Day 3: Taghazout → Agadir
A morning of surfing or swimming, then Agadir's seafront and the Oufella kasbah. Dinner at the port.
Day 4: Agadir → Marrakech (250 km)
Back on the A7 motorway: about three hours, with a toll. More details on our Agadir and Taghazout page.
The smart option: one-way
If you end your trip in Agadir, a one-way rental can save you the drive back to Marrakech.
