Why Hivernage is the easiest place to start
Wide avenues, hotel car parks and little traffic compared with the medina: Hivernage is the most relaxed part of Marrakech to drive in. Avenue Mohammed VI takes you to the airport in 10 to 15 minutes, and the ring road connects to the motorways for Casablanca and Agadir and to the N8 for Essaouira.
The Koutoubia and Jemaa el-Fna are about 20 minutes away on foot, so you do not need the car for evenings in the old town.
