Mercedes in Marrakech: C-Class, V-Class, Vito
- C-Class: automatic diesel saloon for business trips and couples, around 1,000 MAD a day.
- V-Class: 7-seat luxury people carrier with leather seats, the favourite for wedding guests and families, around 1,600 MAD a day.
- Vito: 9-seat minibus for groups, usually hired with a driver for airport transfers.
Range Rover Evoque or Land Rover Defender?
The Evoque is a compact hybrid luxury SUV: ideal for dinners in the Palmeraie and the motorway to Essaouira or Agadir. The Defender is a real diesel 4x4 for the Agafay desert, the Drâa valley or Merzouga, provided your contract allows off-road driving.
Self-drive or with a driver?
In the medina and Guéliz, parking a large car is awkward. Many visitors book a driver for 8 hours on the evenings out and drive themselves on day trips. Hivernage hotels and Palmeraie villas are the usual pick-up points.
Before you book

Renting a luxury car in Marrakech: what to prepare
For a luxury car, bring your valid driving licence and your passport or ID, and a suitable deposit method: the amount is higher than for a small car and how it is held depends on the agency (bank card or cash). Ask in advance about the excess, the mileage included and the minimum driver age.
Wedding, stay in a luxury hotel or weekend for two: say so when you book so the keys can be handed over at the airport, hotel or riad.
