What “no deposit” really means in Marrakech
Ads for “rent a car Marrakech no deposit” often promise the impossible. In practice an agency always needs some security against damage, fines or a missing tank of fuel. What changes from one agency to another is the form and the amount of that security.
With Locavi's partner agency you choose between two forms, both refunded in full if the car comes back without new damage: a cash deposit, handed over against a signed receipt, or a hold (pre-authorisation) on your bank card, which is never charged. No cheque, no online deposit, no credit card required.
Two ways to leave the deposit

How much is the deposit? (low deposit options)
- Economy (Dacia Logan, Dacia Sandero, Citroën C3): around 4,000 MAD (≈ €370).
- City car (Renault Clio 5, Peugeot 208): around 5,000 MAD (≈ €460).
- SUV (Dacia Duster): around 8,000 MAD (≈ €740).
For the lowest deposit, choose an economy car. Add Serenity cover (zero excess) to keep what you could owe after damage to a minimum.
No credit card deposit at Marrakech airport
The cash deposit also works for a handover in the arrivals hall of Marrakech-Menara airport. There are cash machines in the hall: withdraw dirhams before meeting the agent. Then it is the usual routine: photos of the car, contract signature and you are on your way in about fifteen minutes.
Beware of “no guarantee” offers
Private owners and tiny outfits sometimes offer a car with “no deposit at all”: often the insurance is out of date, there is no written contract, or they keep your passport instead. If anything happens, you have no protection.

Luxury cars and low deposits
