Its ground clearance keeps you clear of speed bumps and damaged roads, and the high driving position gives good visibility on Atlas bends. The diesel engine uses about 5.5 litres per 100 km.

Duster or a real 4x4?

For the vast majority of routes, including access to the Agafay camps, the Duster is enough. A 4x4 is only needed for difficult tracks or sand. Either way, check the contract conditions for off-road driving.

Recommended drives in a Duster

• Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Haddou over the Tizi n'Tichka: about 200 km and 4 h; the Duster’s height is reassuring on the hairpins.
• Agafay desert: about 40 km and 50 min; the final track to the camps is easy without scraping, driving slowly.
• Ouzoud waterfalls: about 150 km and 2 h 45, with a winding final stretch that is comfortable in an SUV.
• Imlil, at the foot of Toubkal: about 65 km and 1 h 30 of narrow mountain road.
• Road trip to Merzouga: about 560 km to the dunes, with a big boot and a frugal diesel for the long stages.

Duster, Logan or Sandero: which one to rent in Marrakech?

The Duster is the most versatile: higher ground clearance, a generous boot, comfort on long stages and in the mountains, hence its popularity for the Atlas and the south. The Logan is the economical saloon for families and motorway trips. The Sandero is the compact city car, easy to park.
