What a hybrid actually is
A hybrid combines a petrol engine and an electric motor that recharges itself as you drive. You fill up with petrol as usual, with no charging point needed.
In town, the electric motor takes over in traffic jams and at low speed: fuel use drops to around 4 litres per 100 km.
