Le minaret de la Koutoubia sous un ciel de nuages, à Marrakech

What to do in and around Marrakech in 3 days by car

8 July 2026 · 2 min read ·

Medina, gardens, Ourika, Agafay: a three-day programme with a car for the day trips.

Marrakech is best explored on foot first. The car is for the day trips: here is a three-day programme that alternates between city and nature.

To book your car for this trip, see our luxury car rental in Marrakech and car rental in Guéliz, Marrakech pages.

Day 1: the medina on foot

No car today: leave it in your riad's car park. Visit Jemaa el-Fna, the souks, the Ben Youssef madrasa, the Bahia palace and the Saadian tombs. Have dinner on the terraces overlooking the square.

Day 2: Gueliz, Majorelle, then the Atlas

Morning at the Majorelle garden and in Gueliz. In the afternoon, head for the Ourika Valley: 1 h 15 of driving to the Setti Fatma waterfalls.

Day 3: the Agafay desert at sunset

Leave in the late afternoon for the Agafay desert, a camel ride and dinner under the stars. Drive back at night or spend the night in a tent.

When to pick up the car?

Renting for 3 days is mainly worthwhile if you do two excursions. If you are staying in the medina, have the car delivered on day 2 and return it on day 3.
